The number of countries that will compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics is still not known, but it will probably be more than 80. The nations listed here have already qualified for the games. 55 nations have qualified as of November 6, 2009. Of those Ghana, Bahamas, Gabon, Malta and the Cayman Islands will participate in the winter olympics for the first time. Tonga has also expressed its hope to make its Winter Olympic début.
